call or text the Suicide & Crisis Hotline: 988

Are you worried about calling? Don’t be!

When you call or text, you will be connected with a trained counselor who is there to listen and provide support, whether you are struggling with suicidal thoughts or need advice on how to help a loved one who may be struggling with mental health issues. If you're struggling with suicidal thoughts, the counselor will assess your level of risk and help to ensure your safety. The goal is to provide support and resources to help you manage your emotions and prevent suicidal behavior.

If you're calling to learn how to help someone else, the counselor will listen to your concerns and provide guidance and resources to help you support your loved one with empathy and understanding. Suicide hotlines are confidential and non-judgmental, and the counselor's main priority is to provide you with the support and resources you need to stay safe or help your loved one.
